The Glickman Center program enables women of low socioeconomic status who are in troubled family situations to obtain highly specialized legal counseling: this type of legal counseling integrates knowledge of the fields of both law (family, criminal, and civil rights) and social work, along with training in the recognition of dangerous situations and application of methods of assisting women to escape the cycle of violence in which they find themselves.
The Glickman Center has seen a significant increase in both the volume and complexity of domestic abuse cases for which women in Tel Aviv-Yafo need legal assistance. In 2015, the Center conducted 254 consultations with women and 595 calls to the hotline. In 2018, the Center expects to handle 338 cases and take 660 calls to the hotline.

How You Can Help
The legal services for women at the Glickman Center is funded by Na’amat, the Tel Aviv Department of Social Services and a private foundation. The private foundation has supported the program for the last six years but, as planned, will be moving on to fund new initiatives when their current grant period ends in December, 2018. It is essential that the gap of $65,000 per year is filled from the start of 2019.
